The makers of the film ‘Emergency’ had reached the Bombay High Court for not getting a censor certificate. Now the court has ordered the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to take a decision on the certificate of ‘Emergency’ by September 18. The ongoing controversy over Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ has taken a new turn. ‘Emergency’ slated for release on September 6 has been stuck in the censor board. The film has not received the censor certificate yet. Due to which the film will not be released for at least two weeks. The makers of ‘Emergency’ reached the Bombay High Court due to not getting the censor certificate. Now the court has ordered the CBFC to take a decision on the certificate of ’emergency’ by September 18. Then the court will next hear on September 19.
Allegations made against CBFC:
The makers of ‘Emergency’, Zee Studios, reached the Bombay High Court on Tuesday after not getting the certificate for the film. The makers requested the court to direct the CBSC to issue the censor certificate. So that the film can be seen in theaters on the scheduled release date of September 6. In the petition, the makers have accused the CBFC of arbitrarily withholding the certificate. The makers told the court that on August 8, the CBFC had asked the producer (Zee Studios) and co-producer (Manikarnika Films) of ‘Emergency’ to change the film. The film was to be certified after these changes. On August 14, the makers met the CBFC and submitted the film with cuts and changes, as per the directive. After this process was completed, the producers received an email from the CBFC on August 29, which said that the CD of the film has been sealed (final) and the makers should collect the censor certificate. Then the makers received another email saying that the certificate has been successfully submitted. has been given, which also had the certificate number. Then when the makers came to collect the actual certificate, they refused to give the certificate. The makers told the court that this is being done because certain Sikh organizations had objections to the trailer of ‘Emergency’ and were opposing the release of the film. sent, to which no reply was given. Hence, a petition has now been filed in the court. Advocate Venkatesh Dhond from Zee Studios told the court – CBSC has no reason to withhold the certificate presented.
