Junagadh : On the outskirts of Khadiya village near Junagadh, while trying to hunt a peacock sitting on a power line, a leopard got stuck in the power line and died on the spot. Regarding this incident, the forest department has gone to the spot and removed the dead body of the leopard for post-mortem. Often there are incidents of wild animals dying due to electrocution, in which wild animals have died while trying to hunt. The forest department was informed by the locals about the early morning leopard hanging dead on the wire on the electricity pole with transformer in the field of Khadiya village on Junagadh Bilkha road. Later, the staff of the forest department immediately reached the spot. There is a ghatadar tree next to the electricity wire on which the leopard was hanging dead. The forest department speculates that the leopard, hiding in the tree, jumped from the tree to hunt the peacock sitting on the power line but the peacock flew away and the panther got stuck in the power line. At present, only the dead body of the leopard has been found from the incident site. The dead body of the leopard was taken down from the power line and moved to Sarkarbagh Zoo in Junagadh for PM. The report also revealed that the cause of death of the leopard was electrocution. The forest department has conducted further investigation after the death of a three to four year old female leopard while trying to hunt.
