If you are going to make a new passport, this is very important news for you. Now there will be no appointment for next 5 days to make passport. The portal of the passport department will be closed across the country from 29th August i.e. from 8pm tonight to the morning of 2nd September. Appointments fixed in advance will also be rescheduled to a later date. If you have applied for a passport earlier and got an appointment between August 30 and September 2, it will have to be rescheduled for another date. That is why applicants across the country including Delhi may face harassment. Application for a new passport cannot be made during this period. According to the information given by the passport department, this portal will not work for five days due to technical reasons. Due to this, the functioning of Passport Seva Kendra, Regional Passport Office, Police Verification of applicants and Ministry of External Affairs will also be affected. The passport department sent this information to the applicants who took online appointments for passports a long time ago.
