76 dams in Gujarat overflowed in Shravan, high alert declared as 46 dams filled up to 70 to 100%

Rain And Weather Updates : In Gujarat, the monsoon month of Shravan has been fruitful for reservoirs in terms of water storage, according to which 78 percent of the 207 reservoirs in the state have been stored against their capacity. However, only 25 percent of water has been received in 31 reservoirs. Due to heavy rainfall in the state, most of the talukas have received significant water supply for the last two days. As a part of the universal rain falling due to deep depression, 76 reservoirs are full i.e. 100 percent while 46 reservoirs are 70 to 100 percent full and high alert has been declared. Apart from this, 50 to 70 percent full alert has been given in 23 reservoirs of the state. 30 reservoirs are between 25 and 50 percent full and 31 reservoirs are less than 25 percent full. Sardar Sarovar Narmada Scheme currently has 290547 MCFT. That is, 87 percent of the total storage capacity has been recorded. Apart from this, 407440 mcft in other 206 reservoirs of the state. That is, 72.73 percent of the total storage capacity has been recorded. Thus, more than 78 percent water storage has been achieved in total 207 reservoirs. The report of the Water Resources Department states that 3.85 lakh cusecs of water is being released against the income of 3.38 lakh cusecs of water in Sardar Sarovar Yojana. Whereas in Vanakbori reservoir there is an outflow of 2.87 lakh cusecs against an income of 2.87 lakh cusecs. Similarly, in Ukai there was an outflow of 2.46 lakh cusecs against an income of 2.47 lakh cusecs, an outflow of 1.63 lakh cusecs against 1.63 lakh cusecs in Aji-4, an outflow of 1.25 lakh cusecs against 1.50 lakh cusecs in Kadana and an outflow of 1.19 lakh cusecs against 1.19 lakh cusecs in Und-1. Apart from this, another 94 reservoirs have received water ranging from 70000 to 100000 cusecs. 87 percent in 17 reservoirs in Central Gujarat, 78 percent in 13 in South Gujarat, 66 percent in 141 in Saurashtra, 61 percent in 20 in Kutch while more than 39 percent in 15 reservoirs in North Gujarat. At this time last year, 207 reservoirs recorded more than 76 percent water storage.
