More than 10 inches of rain in Vadodara city, Vishwamitri level recorded at 28 feet, flood risk again, school holiday declared

Vadodara: While torrential rains are lashing most parts of the state, many parts of Saurashtra, including South, Central, North Gujarat, have been flooded due to heavy to heavy rains and flood-like conditions have developed in some areas. Meanwhile, the situation in Vadodara is likely to become more serious due to the increase in the level of Vishwamitri. At present, the vishwamitri level has been recorded at 28 feet at Kalaghoda Bridge at 5:00 pm, due to which the system has initiated evacuation of people living in low-lying areas to safer places. Vadodara Municipal Commissioner has released a video and said that there is a serious flood situation in Vadodara.

Several areas of Vadodara city flooded:
Rameshwar Nagar, Jhansi Rani Circle areas are waist-deep in water, while houses and shops in Bhagirath Society near Rani Statue in Subhanpura Jhansi are inundated. In the western area, including the mayor’s ward, the river was seen flowing on the road from De Mart to Khodiyar Nagar. A flood-like situation has developed in Vadodara city amid heavy rains. As the city of Vadodara has become waterlogged and most areas of the city are inundated, Vadodara DEO has declared holiday in all schools in Vadodara tomorrow (August 27) in view of the flood situation. 213.50 mm in Vadodara city from 8 am to 4 pm. It is raining. While Ajawa lakes have overflowed to 214.40 feet, Tappura 232.80 feet, Vishwamitri river 28.40 feet, Ashoj feeder 8.7 feet water level has reached.
