Congress-NC alliance in Jammu-Kashmir assembly elections, talk of joining PDP too

Election 2024: The Election Commission has announced the dates for the assembly elections in Jammu Kashmir and Haryana on 16th August, on the other hand, the Congress has also started preparations for the assembly elections after the Lok Sabha and has started the process of giving tension to the BJP. According to reports, the Congress and the National Conference (NC) have formed an alliance ahead of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir next month. Not only this, there have been speculations that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will also join the alliance. National Conference President and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has announced an alliance with the Congress today (August 22). Lok Sabha Opposition Leader and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi visited Jammu and Kashmir, during which an agreement has been reached between the two parties regarding the alliance. During his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, a meeting was held between Rahul Gandhi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Farooq Abdullah, in which the former chief minister said, “We will contest on all 90 seats.” Congress, CPIM and NC are together. He said about PDP that the doors are not closed for any party.

Voting will be held in three phases in Jammu and Kashmir:
Talking about the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, the polling in the union territory is going to be held in three phases next month. As per the Election Commission announcement, polling will be held here on September 18, September 25 and October 1, while the results will be announced on October 4. The Congress has made Girish Chodankar the chairman of the screening committee for the selection of candidates for the Jharkhand assembly elections. Poonam Paswan and Prakash Joshi have been made members of the committee. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has been entrusted with the responsibility of Screening Committee of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The members of this committee will be Anton Antonio and Sachin Rao. Apart from this, it has been said that the state president, CLP leader and Congress state in-charge will also be included in the Congress screening committee in the four states.
