Rules and laws are being radically changed across India to make the judicial process more convenient and effective. Preparations are also being made in states including Gujarat, UP, now efforts are being made to take the judicial process online. A new rule has been implemented in Gujarat’s neighboring state of Madhya Pradesh. Under this rule summons and warrants will now be sent through online mediums like WhatsApp, e-mail and text message and will also be considered valid. With this new initiative, Madhya Pradesh has become the first state in the country to recognize online summons and warrants. The Home Department has also issued a notification in this regard. Let us tell you that the Madhya Pradesh government has prepared these rules for the new law in one and a half months, according to which now summons and warrants can be issued directly from the court. If the mail is not bounced back then the summons and warrant sent through e-mail will be considered valid. This means, if the e-mail is sent then the summons or warrant will be deemed to have been issued. However, this new rule will not apply to people who do not use e-mail, phone numbers or messaging applications. In such cases, the traditional method will be adopted and summons or warrants will be sent by the staff of the concerned police station itself. The Home Department has issued a gazette notification to implement this new rule. The move is expected to speed up the judicial process and is considered an important step towards strengthening the justice system in the digital age. Implementation of this new rule will save time and resources in judicial processes, as well as deliver court orders more efficiently.
