17,000 homes ordered to evacuate in Japan due to powerful typhoon: Rail-air services cancelled

An alert has been issued in Japan for the threat of Typhoon Ampil. People living near the seashore of Tokyo have been instructed to evacuate their homes immediately. Apart from this, railway and air services have also been canceled here. The typhoon has now reached the coast of Tokyo, in view of which an alert has been issued by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC). According to JTWC, Typhoon Ampil has strengthened and is approaching the coast of Tokyo. The storm may intensify in the next 12 hours. When the typhoon passes over Japan, it is also likely to have a major impact.

Houses ordered to vacate:
Officials in the coastal areas of Isumi have issued evacuation notices for about 17,000 homes in anticipation of the storm. Along with this, he has started exploring them to protect the elderly and disabled. The possibility of a thunderstorm has also been expressed in this area by late night today. During this time, there may be torrential rain along with strong winds. The city of Yokohama has also issued an order to evacuate people to safer places. Heavy rain lashed the coastal areas this morning and thousands of homes were also without power due to strong winds. Railway and airline services have also been stopped after receiving the notice about the storm. The country’s two major airlines, Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airlines, have canceled more than 500 flights. In addition, six bullet train services have also been suspended. The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of heavy rain, strong winds, flooding conditions and landslides for northern and eastern Japan. Officials have urged all people to take necessary precautions and be prepared for the storm’s impact. The center of the cyclone is some distance from the coast.
