The body of the girl who drowned in an open drain near Wakharia port in Bilimora was found today after 22 hours. After 22 hours of intense search, the girl’s body was found at Wadia shift yard near Wagharia port. Due to which, the family of the girl was in mourning. Father Ajit Sheikh hugged the girl’s dead body. When the father and the family were moving towards the house with their beloved baby girl in their arms, there was an atmosphere of mourning. The girl’s body was taken to Belimora’s Mengoshi Hospital for post-mortem.
In Belimora, Navsari, a 6-year-old girl fell into an open drain due to negligence of the system. After checking the CCTV, it was reported that the girl had fallen into the open rain drain, and the search for the girl was carried out on war footing by the system. After searching for five-six hours yesterday, the rescue operation was interrupted after 10 pm when it started raining again. The search for the girl is being conducted again from early this morning.
Meanwhile, only the dead body of Masoom Shahin was found after 22 hours of searching. The body of the girl was found in the river Ambika.
The Belimora fire team started efforts to search for the girl by taking a fire boat early. Only the dead body of the girl was found 22 hours after the incident. Due to the open drain, their beloved daughter drowned in the sewage water and the family and locals are angry with the municipality. Had the open drains been closed or some systematic work done during the monsoons, the life of this innocent might have been saved.
Two and a half hours after the girl fell into the drain, the parents came to know that Shaheen, a 6-year-old girl of the Sheikh family living on Wakharia Road in Belimora, was found missing by her parents around 2.30 pm yesterday. However, the CCTVs of the surrounding area were checked as Shaheen’s address was not found. In the CCTV footage, Shaheen was seen falling into an open rain drain near her house while playing. Within seconds of falling into the open drain, Shaheen was seen writhing.
