
Security personnel at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport were jolted on Sunday after an email threatening to blow up buildings at the facility was found to be a hoax. Police have registered a case of criminal intimidation and are tracing the sender.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the airport’s official email account and other internal addresses received a threatening email at 6.06 am on Sunday. The email, laced with violent rhetoric, claimed that bombs had been planted around the airport’s buildings and warned that the authorities had “24 hours to react or face the blood pool”.The email further described the purported sender as the “leader of a terrorist group also known as terrorisers 111”, and included disturbing self-styled descriptions such as “I am the child of evil” and “I am the meaning of hatred”.
