EDII to host 16th Biennial Conference on Entrepreneurship

The 16th Biennial Conference (3-day) of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad began on February 26 at the institute’s premises. The three-day conference, themed ‘Entrepreneurship’, will conclude on February 28. The conference is a platform for researchers, academicians and practitioners to share their research studies and findings in various areas of entrepreneurship development. EDII has been organizing the Biennial Conference on Entrepreneurship since 1994. During the conference, scholars from over 9 countries presented papers on Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice; Entrepreneurship Education; Entrepreneurship Ecosystem; Psychology and Entrepreneurship; MSME Entrepreneurship; Technology and Digital Entrepreneurship; Startup and Innovation; Green and Sustainable Entrepreneurship; Social Entrepreneurship; Culture, Tradition and Value Based Entrepreneurship; Women Entrepreneurship; Rural Entrepreneurship and Nativities and New Venture Creation and Family Business were presented as 148 research papers and studies on topics like. The conference was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) T.V. Rao, Founder and Chairman, T.V. Rao Learning Systems Private Limited, Ahmedabad and Former Professor, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He said, “In today’s dynamic economy, the development of entrepreneurship is crucial to drive economic growth and professional advancement. I believe that entrepreneurship is a mission, a powerful force where individuals leverage technology and innovation to solve real-world problems to create a better future for all. Given the importance of this sector, it is important to undertake regular research and policy advocacy to promote entrepreneurship. This is a unique platform and I am sure that the findings of the conference will have a significant impact on entrepreneurship.” Addressing the conference, Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII said, “The biennial conference consistently provides a platform for researchers and educators from around the world to share their ideas and innovations that are critical to understanding the complexities of entrepreneurship. By bringing together leading researchers and educators, this platform facilitates the dissemination of research findings, fosters new perspectives and shapes the future of entrepreneurship, thus empowering aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge they need to succeed.” As part of the conference, a Vice Chancellors/Directors Conclave was also organized to discuss innovations in entrepreneurship education. Universities from across the country were represented, which was moderated by Prof. (Dr.) Harivansh Chaturvedi, Director General, IILM Delhi, New Delhi. The panelists included Prof. (Dr.) Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, Indian Institute of Management Ranchi; Prof. (Dr.) Rajat Moona, Director, Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar; Prof. (Dr.) Rajul K. Gajjar, Vice Chancellor, Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad; Professor (Dr.) Ravi P Singh, Provost, Adani University, Ahmedabad; and Professor (Dr.) Sameer Sood, Director, National Institute of Fashion Technology, Gandhinagar. Another important event of the conference was the Doctoral Colloquium, where PhD scholars and FPM students from across the country were given guidance on their research work.
