5 members of a family died in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. These people slept with electric blower on to escape cold, due to which all of them died due to suffocation. When the family did not wake up in the morning, the neighbors suspected something was wrong. They called the police and informed the matter. When the police broke the door of the house and entered inside, they found a man, a woman and their three children unconscious. The police immediately took them to the hospital, but the doctors declared them dead. According to reports, the incident took place in Sheikh Mohalla of Panderthan area of Srinagar. The incident came to light on Sunday (January 5) morning. The deceased was living in a rented house. State Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha have also expressed grief over the incident.

According to reports, the deceased have been identified as 38-year-old Ejaz Ahmed Bhat, his 32-year-old wife Salima and their three children 3-year-old Areeb, 18-month-old Hamza and a one-month-old baby. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed grief over the incident. According to the police, a call was received in the control room. The caller said that 5 people live in a rented house in his neighbourhood, but there has been no movement in the house since this morning. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot, despite ringing the bell, no one opened the door. When the police broke the door and entered, they found all the five people unconscious.
