Morbi : A protest was staged by traders and Congress today at the municipal office by banging drums to wake up the loyal conductors on the issue of bad road and subsoil behind the old bus stand in Morbi. Motorists are facing many problems due to huge potholes on New Dela Road behind Morbi’s old bus stand. According to the locals, many motorists fell into this pit. This is a three year old question. The underground is also flooding here. This has been presented to the municipality many times. The work is being carried out by the municipality only with moram. This problem can be solved permanently if the road is raised, but the municipal authorities are turning a blind eye. Meanwhile, as the situation worsened due to heavy rains, the patience of the local traders was lost. So today the traders accompanied the Congress and reached the Morbi municipality office by playing drums. But the chief officer is not present there. A sit-in was announced until the Chief Officer arrived. Here also an attempt was made to wake up the Nimbhar tantravahikas by playing drums. Later, the matter was settled with an assurance of a proper resolution at the earliest. Traders and leaders involved in the protest said that the area behind the three-year-old bus stand is filled with sewage. Two-foot pits have fallen. Applications have been given many times before. But no concrete work has been done by the municipality. If the roads of Morbi city are in such a condition, today we have come to the municipality office with drums to wake up the drivers. No one is present here to listen to folk questions. There is a demand that system operators should solve people’s problems concretely instead of just talking.
